To commemorate the 3rd year of the English Language Mechatronics Engineering Course at the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering of Óbuda University an International Mechatronical Student micro-Conference (IMSµC2014) was held on 16th of December 2014, which was the second of its kind in the history of Óbuda University.
The aim of this conference was to give Mechatronics Engineering students the opportunity to get to know each other, to improve their presentation, communication and engineering skills.
The conference did not have a registration fee, but the presenters and the visitors (teachers, mentors, friends), for better organization, had previously registered at the home page of the conference. The official language of the conference was English.
The conference almost entirely copied the process of international conferences. It began with registration in the morning at the registration desk, where the participants got their conference package, and then continued according to the official conference program.
The conference started with an opening speech by the president of the conference, Prof. Dr. Pál Rácz and the founding chair, Dr. István Nagy. After the opening speeches the presentations followed, organized into four sections (2-2 parallel sections); in each section 6-7 presentations. Each session had its own session chair, who appraised the presentations and based on this the best presentation of the session, was announced. During the coffee breaks, between the sessions, the participants could appease their hunger and quench their thirst with sandwiches, coffee and various refreshing drinks at the conference buffet (Bánki, Room 252).
The conference could not have been realized without some support. We are grateful to the Bánki Faculty and its Dean’s Office, as well as the International Office and the Bánki HöK of the university. We would also like to express our thanks to the organizers, who as a family helped to realize this conference.
